- About 2,500 US stocks
- 13 momentum traits
- Rescored every 15 seconds
- Filings read from SEC EDGAR, the Senate, the House and OGE
See what Congress and the President are trading.
Members of Congress have to report the stocks they buy and sell. Executive-branch officials file the same kind of report. Breakaway reads those filings straight from the Senate and House disclosure sites and factors every trade into that stock's ranking. Pick one name from the list, Pelosi or the president included, and see only what that person reported. Both dates on every row, the filing one tap away.

Tap a row to open the stock.
Read from the official filings
Senate trades come from the Senate's own filing site, House trades from the Clerk of the House, executive-branch reports from the Office of Government Ethics. No data vendor sits in between, and every row links to the source so you can read it yourself.
Scored into the rank
The trade is part of the quality score, worth up to three points either way. Purchases in the last 60 days count, weighted by the dollar range disclosed, and they fade over about a month. Sales subtract. A disclosed holding is a standing bonus that does not fade: small for most filers, and up to the full three points when the filer is the president or a name the market follows. So a Senator's buy in a leader outranks the same buy in a broken chart.
Both dates, because reports run late
Members have up to 45 days to file, so a trade is often weeks old when it becomes public. The trade date and the disclosure date sit side by side, so the lag is never hidden. Amounts are ranges, like $15,001 to $50,000, because that is all a filing gives. Pick a 30, 90 or 180-day window and read buys, sells and disclosed holdings.

One card says whether a stock is quality momentum or noise. The chart, the filings, the news, and the books are read for you and printed as one score, with every point explained.

One per trait group, each segment a trait that is firing, with the count beside it. Strong on trend and quiet on compression reads in a second. You do not have to know what on-balance volume is. Fourteen checks in all, and 13 is the most a stock can score, because volume expansion and volume dry-up cannot both be true.

Quality momentum comes first.
Most scanners hand you a list and no reason. Breakaway ranks by quality and puts the reason on the card.
Thirteen traits give the trait count. The quality score builds on it.
- Adds: a long-term trend, real company size, a profitable year, a score that has held for weeks, and the run-up already made over six and twelve months.
- Adds: scored news, insider buys, and Congress and executive-branch trades.
- Subtracts: a losing year, insider selling into the 52-week low, a dilutive share offering.
So a large profitable company breaking out ranks above a thin small cap with the same chart. Totals read Poor below zero, Weak from 0, Average from 5, Above average from 10, Strong from 14, and Exceptional from 18. Every stock page shows the math line by line.
In practice most stocks land between 0 and 15, and a strong name reaches the high teens. It runs on every stock every 15 seconds.
The moving averages stack in order. Price holds above a rising 21-day line. The weekly chart agrees, and the stock sits near its 52-week high.
Heavy volume when the stock runs, and quiet volume while it rests. More shares change hands on up days than on down days.
The daily trading range gets tight against the stock's own history. Quiet ranges do not stay quiet forever.
Money keeps flowing in. The stock closes near the high of the day, and buyers step in on the dips.
- Staying power. A score that has held up counts for more: two points when the middle score of the last twenty recorded days is 12 or more, one at 9 or more, nothing under ten days on record. A stock that broke out today is never docked for being new.
- Score history. Every stock charts its quality score for the last sixty trading days, with the trait count underneath, so a stock that has held a high score for a month looks different from one that arrived this morning.
- Labels beside the score. Every stock gets one of trending, in transition or choppy, from the ADX trend gauge or from moving averages lined up near the highs. A green label marks a stock up on the quarter, five points ahead of the S&P 500 over three months and above its 200-day average price. All three have to be true. The label is context and never touches the score. Every session's top ten is kept as a history you can read any time.

The backtest you never ran
Setup odds rebuild each stock's daily score over five years of history and show what it did 5, 10, and 20 sessions after days when its trait count was where it is today. For DELL that is about 85 cases. You get how often it was higher and the average move. The sample size is printed beside the number, so you know how much history is behind it. It is that stock's own past behavior, rebuilt every night. Past behavior, not a forecast.
Starting levels you can edit
Open any stock and a plan is already there: a starting buy price above the recent high, a stop under the 21-day moving average or the last low point on the chart, two targets at 2 and 3 times the stock's average daily move (ATR), and the number of shares that match the dollars you choose to risk. Change any number and the rest updates. These are starting levels, not advice, and the decision is yours.
The filings, read across the whole market.
A chart says nothing about news, insider buying, or government trades, and most people never go looking. The Insiders page shows every insider buy and every Congress trade across the market as they land. The Earnings page shows every report with its reaction, and who reports next. Each row sits beside that stock's quality score, trait count, and trend, so when the chart, the news, and the filings all point the same way, it shows. Save a filter and, if you want, get an alert when a new filing matches it.
News and 8-K filings
+3 newsFive days of headlines for every stock, scored where the company is the subject: FDA approvals, raised forecasts, takeovers, insider buys. The 8-K filings companies send the SEC are read the same way, the day they hit EDGAR. Dilutive share offerings and failed drug trials count against a stock. An earnings beat keeps counting for twenty days, weighted by how far the stock moved on the report.
Insiders
+3 insiderEvery open-market buy and sell from an SEC Form 4, the day it is filed, weighted by size and by the buyer's role. A sale near the 52-week high barely moves the score; a chosen sale into the 52-week low pulls it down and the card says why in plain words. Sales set up months ahead under a 10b5-1 plan are ignored. The list gives who traded, their role, the dollar value, the price paid, the share count, both dates, a tag near the 52-week low, a note when the filing was options rather than shares, and the Form 4 one tap away. Pick 7 days or 30.
Congress and government
+3 govTrades that members of Congress and executive-branch officials have to report, read from the Senate and House disclosure sites and the Office of Government Ethics, each weighted by the dollar range disclosed. The list runs newest first with the person, the chamber or office, both dates, and a link to the filing. Pick 30, 90 or 180 days.
The big funds
13FWhich notable funds hold each stock, from their latest 13F filings, the quarterly holdings reports funds file with the SEC. Fifteen managers are covered: Bridgewater, Appaloosa, Berkshire Hathaway, Duquesne, Pershing Square, Scion, and nine more. New positions, adds, cuts, and exits are marked against the quarter before. It is context, it never touches the score, and the page says how old the filing is.
Earnings reactions
EarningsEvery company in the scan that has reported, before the open or after the close, the gap it opened on and where the stock stood five sessions later, with the catalyst our news rules scored beside it. A second tab lists who reports next, with how the stock took its last few reports. Report dates come from the 8-K filings companies send to EDGAR. Pick 14 days or 30.

Tap any row to open the stock. The filing is one tap further.
Filings arrive with a lag. A Congress report can run 45 days behind the trade, and a 13F shows what a fund held at the end of a quarter, not what it holds today. It is information, not advice. Read all of it as a signal, and the decision stays yours.

Built for a phone screen first, then scaled up to the desktop. One column of cards, filters under your thumb, a whole stock page read one-handed. Nothing is shrunk or cut off, it loads fast on a weak connection, and while the market is open prices and scores update in place without a refresh. Every stock has a page you can bookmark or share.
Star a stock and it stays pinned above the grid with its live score and latest news. Alerts are optional. Set one and your phone buzzes when it crosses a score, when an insider buys, when it opens sharply higher, or when it hits your price. The form shows what that threshold has done in the past, with the count behind it, and your alert record shows what each one did 5, 10, and 20 trading days later. Each rule sends at most eight alerts a day, then one summary. On inflation and jobs mornings the digest opens with the 8:30 number, the month before, and a plain-words read.

Add it to your Home Screen. It opens like an app.

There is no App Store and no download. On an iPhone tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android tap the menu, then Add to Home screen. Optional push alerts work from there.
And the rest of it.
A real chart, not a thumbnail
Nine timeframes, four styles, a log axis, extended hours, the 9 and 21 EMA, the 50 and 200 SMA, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, anchored VWAP, Fibonacci, and RSI, MACD, Stochastic, ATR and strength against the S&P 500 in panes underneath. Key levels, insider markers and an amber E on every earnings session pin to their bars. Drag across the plot to measure any span. Set it up once and it follows your account to your phone.
Small caps and biotech
Plenty of scanners stop at the S&P 500. Breakaway scans about 2,500 US stocks, sorted into large, mid, small and micro caps, and every one gets the same traits, score, signals, history and editable plan. Small caps, biotech with the FDA news that matters, squeeze setups and 7+ traits are each one tap, company size, short interest and the earnings date sit on every card, and news of a share sale or a delisting pulls a score down early.
The whole market on one screen
A treemap of every sector, sized by company size and colored by return, with a sector table under it. The panel above the grid carries the S&P 500, how many stocks are rising, 52-week highs and lows, unusual volume, who reports this week, the Fed, CPI and jobs calendar and market-wide headlines, and reads the inflation or jobs number in plain words the morning it lands. Fresh, gainers, losers, new highs, most volatile, gap ups and squeeze setups are one tap each.
Industries ranked
Money moves in groups. Every industry with at least four scored names is ranked by the average quality score of its members, with the count, the share trending up, the share above the 200-day average, the move over a day, a month and a quarter, and its top three symbols. Sort by any column, tap one and the scanner opens filtered to it, and the filter lives in the web address, so a filtered scan is a link you can send.
Peers, ranked
Every stock page ranks the stock against the rest of its industry by quality score, with each rival's trait count beside it. DELL ranks first of its five hardware peers today. Related companies from the data provider sit under that.
Top ten history
Every session Breakaway writes down the ten stocks with the highest quality score, while the session is still current, and keeps them. It is a record of what already happened, not a promise about tomorrow.
Optional alerts that come to you
Off until you set one. Set a rule on one stock, your watchlist, a saved scan, a saved Signals view or the whole market: a score crossing a level, a price, a move, unusual volume, RSI, a MACD cross, a break of the prior high, a squeeze setup, an insider buy, a government trade, a news catalyst. It fires as a push, an email or both, at most eight a day per rule, and the alerts page keeps a record of how each setup behaved 5, 10 and 20 sessions later.
Whole-market movers
The biggest moves of the day across every listed stock with real volume, penny names included, in the scan or not, each with the multiple of its average volume and the catalyst behind it, refreshed every 15 seconds. Gainers and losers, with the news one tap away.
A trade plan on every stock
Every stock page carries a starting buy price, a stop, targets and a share count sized to the risk you set, all of it editable and saved to your account. Star a stock and it stays pinned above the grid with its live score, its latest headline and a note of your own.
The morning digest
An optional email at 9:35 Eastern with the morning's inflation or jobs read, the top names by quality score, the pre-market moves of 3% or more, breadth from the last session and who reports this week. Switch it on from your profile.
