How this report is made

As of Oct 26, 2026: 47 members of Congress disclosed 2,017 stock trades in Q3 2026, 1,096 buys and 921 sales. 434 of them (22%) were disclosed past the STOCK Act's 45-day limit. Scores as of Sep 30's close.

  • The window. Trades disclosed Jul 1 to Sep 30, 2026, as filed under the STOCK Act.
  • Ranges, not amounts. Members file each trade's size as a range, such as $1,001 to $15,000. The report shows the ranges as filed and never adds them up.
  • Disclosure dates. A trade is counted in the quarter it was disclosed, the day the public could read it, not the day it was made.
  • As filed. Trades by spouses and dependent children count as the member's, as the filings report them. Options count as trades: 29 of the 2,017 trades were options trades (calls and puts), as filed.
  • Sitting members only. Former members, candidates, and the President's trades are left out. Party comes from the public congress-legislators dataset. A member is matched by name and state; “No party on record” counts a filer it could not match.
  • Sources. The House Clerk's and the Senate's disclosure sites, read from Mar 4, 2026. Late means disclosed more than 45 days after the trade, the STOCK Act's outer limit.
  • Paper filings. 8 filings in this report were scanned paper forms, read by a machine reader, with each row checked before it counted.
